OUR WHY IS COMMUNITY

The Need: Our County Parks Department partner is chronically underfunded and needs help to meet our community's priorities. From equitable access to equitable distribution of park spaces, we work to leverage donations, grants and policy for change.

The Benefit: Access to nature is a social determinant of health, so barriers must be addressed for our community to thrive. We invest in People and Places, centering community voice in co-design of programs, projects and policies as the foundation for change.
Why can't the Park Department do this alone? Why is a nonprofit needed? See slideshow below.
