Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Vision:
We aspire to create a welcoming, just, equitable, diverse and inclusive environment where each person feels that their whole identity is known and respected.
Purpose:
We, the Staff and Board of County Park Friends, believe we have a mutual responsibility to ourselves, each other, and society. We are committed to ensuring that our work is OF/BY and FOR people who bring different lived experiences and perspectives in an ever-evolving world.
Approach:
We are purposeful in building an organization and community that shares this vision. All community members should see their identity reflected in our staff, board, programs, as a basic step to fulfill our Mission. Equally important is that everyone is challenged to look outside themselves to understand, respect, and appreciate the cultures and identities of others.
Commitment:
We are working to be active participants in a democracy as we fulfill our mission to support public spaces and programs for everyone in our diverse community. We recognize systemic injustice and lead with processes that invite equity in all parts of our work.
