The ParkRx Santa Cruz County Working Group thanks both our prescribing and delivery partners for their dedication to help connect people with nature for health.

Our Spring 2022 season ParkRx SCC Prescription 1-pager developed as our first step in this pilot. 
This is actively being prescribed by our health partners.

County Park Friends works at the intersection of Park and Health Equity. We are excited to see the movement grow and to help lead ParkRx SCC to offer tangible improvements to health by activating our rich natural resources.

Our programs are:
  • Being free/low cost and
  • Primarily taking place outdoors
  • Being co-designed and delivered by community leaders​

Watsonville Parks & Community Services has joined local partners at the forefront of the ParkRx Santa Cruz County movement because it aligns perfectly with our mission to make Watsonville an ideal place to live, work and play. Our goal is to see a happy, healthy, thriving community and getting outdoors and in nature is a vital component to everyBODY's wellness.  The collaborative effort of park and recreation agencies, medical professionals, community organizations and advocates can only result in tangible, impactful benefits to our community!

As the movement continues to develop and grow momentum daily, we started by identifying existing activities and opportunities aligned with ParkRx by:
  • Being free/low cost and
  • Primarily taking place outdoors

​These opportunities are available to you and your family RIGHT NOW - no prescription needed.  

Meanwhile, we are also working with our partners to pilot outdoor prescription programs with local medical professionals and more.

The Land Trust of Santa Cruz County  is providing leadership staff to serve on the ParkRx Santa Cruz County Advisory and is developing ParkRx eligible programs to serve the Pajaro Valley community.
