Super Stoked Mamas

"Women do not have to stop doing what they love to do just because they are pregnant or have a baby at home.
With an outdoor playground and the support of friends anything is possible,"
by Katie Loggins
Pleasure Point is the place The Surf Mamas call home (Ashley Lloyd Thompson, Jenny Bennett, Katie Loggins, Grace Gooch and Mayra Aguilar.) Low tide beach time, salty surf sessions and our love for our community and ocean brought us together and solidified our friendships.
We all became pregnant around the same time and we turned to each other for support and encouragement. Pleasure Point provided us the opportunity to continue doing what we love. In the wild ocean we would laugh together about the challenges we faced as our bellies grew bigger and our wetsuits no longer fit, but also shared our joy of being in the water with our unborn child inside us experiencing the expansive powerful ocean together as one.

Once our babies were born, we faced new challenges in dealing with the responsibilities of caring for a needy little one. When we all realized that we were not getting enough surf time to fill our souls we once again turned to each other, creating a surf mama group. We chose to come together as a community, mamas and women to support each other in our love of our cold salty ocean. We arranged low-tide beach time surf swaps. Our neighborhood beach is the perfect playground.  Our children play in the sand and tide pools while mamas surf the beautiful waves feeling the freedom provided by the ocean.
We are now empowered to spread the message to women that they do not have to stop doing what they love to do just because they are pregnant or have a baby at home. With an outdoor playground and the support of friends anything is possible. A documentary short produced by Elizabeth Pepin Silva and Paul Feraris called Introducing the Super Stoked Surf Mamas of Pleasure Point highlights our love for Pleasure Point and our story can also be watched on www.thesurfnetwork.com
