The City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department is providing leadership staff to serve on the ParkRx Santa Cruz County Advisory and is assessing ParkRx eligible programs to serve the community.

The Latest: 
As the movement continues to develop and grow momentum daily, we started by identifying existing activities and opportunities aligned with ParkRx that are:

·  Free/low cost
·  Taking place outdoors

County Park Friends works at the intersection of Park and Health Equity. We are excited to see the movement grow and to help lead ParkRx SCC to offer tangible improvements to health by activating our rich natural resources.

Meanwhile, we are also working with our partners to pilot prescription of these programs with local medical professionals.

The Santa Cruz County Parks Department is providing staff to the Advisory. As a leader in this work, staff have identified existing resources, programs and activities, indicated them with the ParkRx logo in their upcoming Activities Catalog.

When you see the ParkRx logo in the upcoming Santa Cruz County Parks Activity Guide (coming soon!), you know a program will be:

Offered outdoors
Low cost, free or have scholarship available
