KATE Minott

Kate is a long-time park and open space activist in the Aptos community. As Supervisor Zach Friend’s appointee to the SC County Parks & Recreation Commission, Kate puts her Master’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning from San José State University to good use. 
Kate’s proudest accomplishments include working with a team of neighbors to open the first SC County park and playground in the Seacliff neighborhood; initiating the ban on smoking materials in county parks; and, shepherding approval for the internationally renowned Post Office Dirt Jump Bike Park site in Aptos Village. In 2016, Kate was celebrated as "Woman of the Year" by the Aptos Chamber of Commerce.
