K&D Landscaping Puts Values into Action

By Jamie Strange
Here at K&D we have a passion for Landscaping and improving the great outdoors. The idea of sharing this passion with our community sparked a conversation in the office in late 2016. We began thinking of ways to engage our community, especially the youth and have put these ideas into actions. During one of our staff meetings, the team came up with the idea of a monthly community beautification project.

We have a premier project coming up in the Aptos village park. This project is taking our typical monthly projects to the next level by installing drought tolerant planting, a rock retaining wall, and providing increased sustainability to the park. Aptos Village Park is in need of special improvements due to erosion issues and outdated landscaping. They also have an insufficient irrigation system that wastes a lot of water which we will be improving! The following local suppliers have donated material as well:
  • K&D Landscaping-Some materials and all labor
  • Vision Recycling-Mulch
  • Aptos Landscape Supply-Boulders
  • Suncrest Nursery-Plants
  • Ewing Irrigation-Irrigation Material
We are so excited about the future of this park and the future of our community. This community beautification for Aptos Village County Park is set to start May 1st and be completed by May 3rd.
If you are interested in teaming up with us here at K&D Landscaping please let me know as we can schedule a phone meeting as needed regarding more information.
Thank you, and I look forward in hearing from you.

 Chanticleer Team

When our Chanticleer Park team needed feedback and guidance about the project, K&D CEO Justin White stepped up. Without a moment's pause, Justin became a core resource to the team, connecting us with many others who care deeply about supporting beautiful public spaces.

The walls of K&D's Watsonville offices are painted with the values that have grown this local business into a leader in our community. "Professionalism, Teamwork, Humility, Respect, Hungry and Safety," make clear why this family owned and operated business shines.

K&D builds partnership into their business model; regularly providing service projects to schools, parks, and organizations. These service projects build their organizational culture; boost morale and exemplify their core values.

We are proud to continue this partnership by welcoming Justin as an Advisor to County Park Friends.
